Phishing attempts come in many forms. It’s important to be vigilant and know the warning signs so you can avoid an attack.

Phishing attempts will often mimic a legitimate company or website, but there will be tiny differences. Maybe a word is misspelled. Or, the link could be one character different from the valid website link. Watch for those small differences, because they are very hard to notice.

Don’t be fooled by messages claiming to be from a friend or contact. These will often be accompanied by strange requests, like wiring money to a strange location or sending a giftcard. It’s always a good idea to contact any friends on a separate platform to confirm it’s not really them.

A good rule of thumb is don’t click on any suspicious links in an email or text.

Always be on the lookout for any phishing attempts and be careful out there!
